WVTF HOSTS JURIED ART SHOW IN AUGUST
WVTF Public Radio and RADIO IQ present a Juried Art Show August 3 – 31. Regional artists will be given a platform to showcase their talents and celebrate their work with proceeds going to support WVTF Public Radio.
Cash prizes will be awarded, from a $500 Best in Show to a $75 People’s Choice Award. The cost is $25 per entry and up to three entries per person are permitted. Eligible media include acrylics, oil, watercolors, pastels, drawings, printmaking, photography, digital art and mixed media.
Jeffrey W. Allison is serving as Art Show juror. Jeffrey W. Allison is currently the Paul Mellon Collection Educator, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Coordinator of Statewide Programs, for the Museum. Jeffrey also teaches Advanced Photography in the Museum's Studio School program.
Selected works will be exhibited in WVTF’s Art Gallery at Broadcast Center in Roanoke through August 31. An Open House featuring live music and refreshments will be held August 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
