If you have lived in or around Roanoke for any of the past 25 years and if you listen to the radio, then Bart’s name is probably familiar to you, because he has worked as an announcer in Southwest Virginia since the days of his first radio job as a teenager in Marion.

Bart spent 13 years with WROV , and later joined WXLK (K-92) in 1980, where his show garnered an audience of nearly a quarter million listeners per week.

After retiring as an announcer and after a subsequent stint as a partner in an advertising agency, Bart came to work at WVTF as an assistant engineer. Since that time, though, he has also assumed the duties of Traffic Coordinator and also conducts research and ratings analysis for the station.

Bart’s work has received top honors. In 1975, Billboard magazine named him the "International Personality of the Year" for markets under a million listeners. Locally, he has been named "Personality of the Year" by the Roanoker magazine.
