Ben Martin - Radio Reading Service Director

Ben came to WVTF in 1991 as a volunteer for the Radio Reading Service before the opportunity arose to become a member of the staff. In June 1992, the position of Director became vacant, and he filled in as acting Director for six months until he was hired as a permanent replacement for the previous director, who gave him his initial radio training. He graduated from Roanoke College and does some occasional freelance writing. In May, 2000, he was elected president of the International Association of Audio Information Services (IAAIS), an international organization dedicated to providing audio information services to those in need.
