Cara Ellen Modisett, has co-produced WVTF's weekly arts program, Studio Virginia, since it came on the air in May 2001. A Harrisonburg native, Cara has been on staff at Leisure Publishing since 1998, where she is editor of Blue Ridge Country, an award-winning regional bi-monthly magazine established in 1988. Cara graduated summa cum laude from James Madison University with degrees in English education and piano performance and performs frequently in western Virginia as an accompanist, chamber and church musician. She wrote the text for the book "Blue Ridge Parkway Impressions," published in 2003 by Farcountry Press, and she reports periodically for WVTF's Morning Edition and West Virginia Public Radio's "Inside Appalachia."
