Originally a native of Cleveland, Ohio, Cynthia’s family moved to Roanoke when the Nickel Plate Railroad merged with the then Norfolk Western Railroad in the mid 1960s. Cynthia thinks moving to Roanoke is the best thing that ever happened to her. A 1981 graduate of James Madison University, Cynthia has a BS in Communications. She then worked with area advertising agencies until she began her career at Blue Ridge Public Television as Underwriting Manager and eventually Director of Development.

Cynthia resides in Roanoke with her husband, Jerry Caldwell and son, Taylor along with three dogs and two cats. She's a member of the board of Festival in the Park and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke. Cynthia is responsible for major and planned giving at WVTF.
