Key Mountain Valley Pipeline Permit Suspended in Virginia

Jake Faber/Southwings.org

A permit allowing the Mountain Valley Pipeline to be constructed through streams and wetlands in Virginia has been suspended.

A coalition of environmental groups say they were informed of that decision by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Friday.

The suspension follows a federal court decision earlier in the week that vacated a similar permit for work in West Virginia.  The company building the pipeline said it would modify its plans and apply for a new permit in early 2019.
