It could take years for Virginia's economy to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. That's the headline from Old Dominion University, which has released its annual look at the Commonwealth's economy.

New COVID-19 restrictions will go into effect Monday morning thanks to record-breaking numbers of COVID-19 infections.

The hospital system serving the southwest corner of Virginia and northeast Tennessee will suspend elective procedures beginning Monday.


The number of COVID-19 cases in the Roanoke region continues to climb.  And health officials say the surge is impacting their ability to investigate and contact trace.
