Authorities have now identified the suspect in connection with the disappearance of Nelson County teenager Alexis Murphy.
48-year-old Randy Allen Taylor was taken into custody yesterday afternoon without incident. He’s been charged with abduction by intimidation or force.
Alexis Murphy was last seen August 3. Nelson County Commonwealth’s attorney Anthony Martin says the arrest is a significant step toward finding the young woman.
The FBI says it is investigating whether this case is connected to other missing-persons cases.
Law enforcement agencies request that those with information contact authorities at 434-263-7050 with any information that would assist in locating Alexis or creating a time-line for authorities of her activities and that of Taylor prior to her disappearance.
