Americana music artist Jim Lauderdale spoke with Luke Church about Frank Newsome’s album of traditional folk hymns Gone Away With A Friend. Lauderdale and Virginia folklorist Jon Lohman recorded the album in 2006 in the church Newsome pastors in southwest VA. The album has just been re-released on Free Dirt Records.
