Northam: Relaxed COVID-19 Restrictions Next Month, Potentially "All the Way" in June

Governor Ralph Northam plans to relax some COVID-19 restrictions next month.

On May 15th, the limit on indoor social gatherings will increase to 100 and 250 for outdoor settings.

Entertainment venues and recreational sporting events will also see their capacity limits increase.

And in a video message released Thursday, Northam said that could be just the beginning.

"I'm optimistic that we will be able to take more steps in June. We're aiming to significantly ramp up vaccinations even further and aim to reduce mitigation measures in June -- hopefully all the way," he said.

The governor added it's still important to wear a face covering and maintain six feet of distance from others.
