The number of new COVID-19 cases in the Roanoke region has continued to increase.  And now health officials say hospitalizations are increasing too.

Seventy percent of Virginia’s adult population has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

But that’s largely thanks to over-performance in northern Virginia and a few other communities like Albemarle County.

The number of new COVID-19 cases in the Roanoke area doubled over the past week.

COVID-19 case numbers remain low in the Roanoke area.

The Roanoke City-Alleghany Health district reported 197 new cases over the last two weeks, according to Doctor Cynthia Morrow.
