Corey Stewart, the Republican candidate for Senator, is out Thursday with his first ad of the general election. The focus is on immigration.

On his campaign website Stewart says every immigrant in the country illegally should be deported - no questions asked. Immigration has been a hallmark of his platform for Senate.

The ad is the first television buy for the campaign. Stewart’s opponent, incumbent Democrat Tim Kaine has run ten different ads since August, including three in Spanish.

The difference between the two is money. Kaine’s campaign has spent more than $4 million on ads. In a press release, the Stewart campaign says it’s spending $400,000 and expects to purchase more as “funds are raised.”

Election day is less than two weeks away.
