As the LEGO Group opens its first and only U.S. manufacturing plant in the Commonwealth of Virginia, VMHC guests can embark an exciting journey through transportation history—one brick at a time! In its first continental United States appearance, Traveling Bricks—one of the largest exhibits of its kind—features more than 100 models of iconic land, air, sea, and space vehicles constructed from nearly 1 million LEGO® bricks. After viewing the exhibition guests can get creative with thousands of LEGO® bricks to build anything they can imagine.

Your child will meet animals, make crafts, sing songs and learn stories, all while playing and exploring with Maymont’s educators. Your toddler might even make a few new friends!

The Salem Museum is pleased to unveil its latest exhibit, “Service Through Knowledge: The History of the Salem Rescue Squad.” Now open in the Main Gallery through early Spring. This captivating display honors the dedication and valor of the men and women who have served in the nation’s oldest all-volunteer rescue squad.
Visitors will embark on a journey through over ninety years of Salem history, exploring the operations of this vital institution and the remarkable individuals who have made lasting contributions to the community through their selfless service. The exhibit showcases an array of photographs and unique artifacts, highlighting the evolution of rescue techniques and equipment while emphasizing the squad’s crucial role in Salem’s safety and well-being.
Guests are also invited to share their personal experiences of how the Rescue Squad has touched their lives by leaving a note in the exhibit. For those inspired by the squad’s noble mission, information about joining this exceptional group of volunteers will be available.
The Salem Museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm. Located in the historic 1845 Williams-Brown House at 801 East Main Street, Salem, the Museum offers free admission and parking, with donations gratefully accepted. The entrance can be found at the Oakey Field Complex sign across Main Street from the Berglund Ford service entrance.
KidFit started out of a garage with 5 kids and 2 coaches doing activities in the park.6 years later they're a non-profit organization serving over 50 kids, have a facility, work with Virginia Tech standout DreKen (Andre Kendrick), and are recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia for their positive impact on kids.
They have seen their athletes win numerous awards, including state, regional, and district championships in both football and track and field. Please join us at Boonsboro country club November 4th at noon for a golf tournament to raise money for KidFit and help us help kids!

Meet your teachers: Anna and Cristian have a passion for creating community and forging connections through dance. As award-winning, national champion dancers, they have traveled the world performing and teaching the beautiful art of Argentine Tango. They bring the true essence of Argentine Tango to every class. Cristian – born and raised in Argentina – has lived and breathed the Tango throughout his life. Anna – with her Argentine heritage and experience living in Argentina – offers a unique blend of cultures and experiences. Both have been taught by some of the most prestigious names in the industry and continue to carry on the legacy of authentic Argentine Tango!

Free Admission on Election Day: Show your “I voted” sticker when you visit the Virginia Museum of History and Culture and receive free admission to the museum galleries, including the museum’s newest exhibition Traveling Bricks: An Exhibition Made of LEGO® Bricks.
To receive free admission, simply check in at the guest services desk when you arrive and show your “I voted” sticker. Tickets for other members of the family can be purchased in person at the museum or online at VirginiaHistory.org.
New light sculptures will sprout up along the expanded Glow Path and the Japanese Garden presented by Colesville Nursery will be transformed by color and lighting effects into a mesmerizing experience for 22 nights this fall. Delight in the wonder of Maymont’s most popular annual event, a chance to revel in the great outdoors with friends and family.
NEW THIS YEAR!More nights means more evenings with discounted admission, and Maymont members enjoy free admission on October 16, 22 and 29.
The experience begins at The Robins Nature Center, where the Glow Path winds past creative light installations by international artists along the Kinsale Trail to the Glow Village on the Carriage House Lawn. At the Glow Village, gather around a fire pit or some glow furniture and enjoy some food and drink from the Glow Bar and fun activities for all ages.
Then venture down the Woodland Trail into the enchantment of the colorful Japanese Garden presented by Colesville Nursery. Allow at least an hour and a half to enjoy the full experience, and come prepared to walk about a mile and a half, with some slopes and inclines. Transportation will be offered for participants who need assistance.
