Assistant Chief Engineer

Full time Assistant Chief Engineer position available for an exciting opportunity with WVTF/Radio IQ. Great salary and benefits. Freedom to set your own hours and travel the coverage area of Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with the Chief Engineer on all technical operations and to be ready, willing and capable of assuming all of those duties in his/her absence
  • Will be in charge of all remote transmitter (9), translator (13), and STL repeater sites (5) include maintaining all station assets and equipment at these sites, including all electronics, emergency power plants, HVAC systems, and physical structures
  • Assists with maintenance of the main WVTF studio equipment and facilities, including all terrestrial, internet, and radio reading service broadcast functions
  • Consults with and provides training to the radio station's personnel about the station's technical operation
  • Monitors daily operations to ensure legal compliance with the rules and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission

Radio Announcer (Part Time)

Serves as production assistant, announcer and master control board operator during weekday and weekend shifts on an as needed basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows specified formats during air shift(s) and executes programming functions as instructed by station program director.
  • When on duty, is responsible for programming on WVTF and RADIO IQ program streams as well as online streams.
  • In conjunction with announcer/board operation duties, also is responsible for quality control monitoring of: program feeds, broadcast operations including automation systems, online streams, and transmitter remote controls as well as assuring the logged paid announcements air as scheduled.
  • Is familiar with and adheres to FCC regulations. Adheres to station
    policies.
  • Performs duties in a consistently professional manner.

Corporate Support Manager

The Corporate Support Manager is responsible for maximizing the station's corporate support team revenues. This is achieved by implementation of systems and overall market strategy, the sales manager’s own direct sales and the overall support and management of the underwriting team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages department to meet or exceed monthly targets for revenue; update and implement sales management systems consistently
  • Set and follow the procedures for setting individual salesperson and station budget goals
  • Develop and employ a digital strategy for multi-platform recognition for underwriters
  • Help the Corporate Support team find and nurture new revenue streams and underwriters as well as actively soliciting for corporate support, all the while consistently and strictly adhering to all station and official regulations and standards for non-commercial support recognition
