Ken Matthews says, “Expect hard hitting riffs, funky renditions and jazz classics. We’re bringing the vibe for you to get up and dance and join us for a two-hour Crescent City experience.”

4th Friday November 28th at Art Works
Save the date for our 4th Friday on November 28, 2025. Our Made in RVA Holiday Shop promises a wholesome holiday experience and opens at 11 a.m. There will be crafts for the children while you shop. Then at 6 pm, join us for the opening reception of the new exhibits by Peter Allen, Jason Bryant, George Tisdale, the RPMG group show, and an All Media Exhibit by local artists. There will be live music, refreshments, and libations sponsored by RVA Thriving Artists.
This event is free and open to the public. Convenient and free parking is available. The exhibits will continue through January 17, 2026.

Join staff on a short tour of the VMHC's rare book and manuscript vault to see some of the collection's most unique books, documents, and artifacts from across five centuries of Virginia history. In addition to viewing these treasures, guests will learn about the VMHC's library collection and the library's role in facilitating pioneering research into Virginia history.
This tour gives special access to an area of the museum off limits to daily admission and library visitors.
