At 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21, the Piedmont Master Gardeners will offer a free Garden Basics session on growing flavorful, vine-ripened tomatoes. The class will be presented at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1118 Preston Ave. in Charlottesville, and will provide practical advice on choosing tomato varieties, planting and caring for tomatoes, dealing with tomato diseases and pests, and harvesting and storing tomatoes. The Garden Basics series is a partnership with the Bread & Roses ministry at Trinity Episcopal Church.
