Join the Rasquache Mobile Cinema for a screening of work by Black filmmakers, including dana washington-queen, Ebony Bailey, and Kevin Everson. The event will take place on the site formerly occupied by the statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. The Lee sculpture was one of four monuments to white supremacy in Charlottesville, torn down in July 2021. A guest speaker will deliver opening remarks to address the site. Admission is free, and no registration is required. In the event of rain, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, October 24 at 7 pm. Attendees are invited to bike to the screening with the Rasquache Mobile Cinema. Meet at 6 pm at Visible Records, located at 1740 Broadway Street, in Charlottesville.
