Public online voting ends Saturday, to make a pick for some of the unique relics vying for the title of Virginia’s Top 10 Endangered Artifacts.
The program is sponsored by the Virginia Association of Museums—and while a designation doesn’t come with any award money, officials say it has helped in fundraising efforts and applying for grants.
Just a few of the items among the nominees: a tombstone of the founder of Virginia Tech, regalia of the Pamunkey Indian Trip, a 1930s German Box Car, a D-Day landing map….and a 1905 Steinway piano.
