St. John's annual Festival of Christmas Lessons and Carols features St. John's Choir and Cantate Children's and Youth Choir. Featured carols include "A patre unigenitus" by Carl Rutti and "Gabriel's Message" by Jim Clements, in addition to works by Michael Head, David Willcocks, Paul Edwards, John Rutter, Ola Gjeilo, and Philip Ledger. The stunning organ work "Toccata-Gigue on the Sussex Carol" by George Baker will begin the servive. Peggy Haas Howell will conduct and play the organ, and Randall Speer will conduct the accompanied carols. Admission is free. St. John's is located at 205 Elmwood Avenue, Lynchburg.
