A LEGO® Brickumentary Film Screening
Gather together for a FREE screening of A LEGO® Brickumentary, the film from Oscar-winning Director Daniel Junge and Oscar-nominated Director Kief Davidson that explores a simple toy with unique properties that has ushered in a new era of creativity and captured imaginations for generations.
A LEGO Brickumentary looks at the impact of the LEGO brick and the innovative uses for it that have sprung up all over the world. Following the film, Ben Edlavitch, a season 4 competitor on Fox's LEGO Masters competition show, will discuss his connections to LEGO and its importance in his life.
Ben Edlavitch is a student at the University of Virginia studying community-focused architecture. His passion for the subject stems from a lifelong love of LEGO bricks and play. Edlavitch approaches architecture with the same playful logic he learned from building with LEGO bricks: that you can take anything apart and put it back together again in a way that makes it better. Edlavitch believes that creating a connection between imaginative play and architecture is essential and can help bring the profession into the present day. He feels that play allows people to explore ideas freely, without judgment, and can open opportunities for creativity and discovery.
Registration is free, but required for admission.
