At 10 a.m. Saturday, January 24, at James Monroe’s Highland, the Piedmont Master Gardeners will present a free Garden Basics class on “Starting Plants from Seeds,” followed by a seed swap. Participants will learn basic techniques for starting flowers and vegetables from seed and the special needs of some seeds. They are also invited to bring seeds (packaged and labeled with species information) to share with other attendees. All will leave with seeds they can use to try out their newly learned skills at home regardless of whether they bring seeds to swap. The first 50 people through the door will receive a swag bag.
