Honoring Overdose Awareness Day

Honoring Overdose Awareness Day
The Roanoke Valley Collective Response invites the greater community to Overdose Awareness Day on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 5-7 PM at the Taubman Museum of Art.
Observed globally on August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is the world’s largest campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those we’ve lost, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. It’s a time to learn, share resources, and take action toward a future free from overdose.
This year, we’ll gather for an evening of hope, healing, and honoring those impacted by overdose, guided by our 2025 themes: #RememberLivesLost #RaiseAwareness #ConnectToResources #RiseWithCommunity
Event Highlights:
*Memorial Wall: Bring a photo of your loved one.
*Tribute Slideshow: Submit the name of a loved one for inclusion in the tribute slideshow by emailing abauter@rvarc.org
*Community Resources: Connect with local prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
*A Welcoming Space: For healing, reflection, and hope.
