Jean-Baptiste Robin Solo Organ Recital (Renowned French Organist at Palace of Versailles)

Jean-Baptiste Robin Solo Organ Recital (Renowned French Organist at Palace of Versailles)

Renowned French concert organist, Jean-Baptiste Robin, will present a solo organ recital on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at 4:00 PM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 205 Elmwood Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503.

With his appointment as Organist of France’s Royal Chapel at the Palace of Versailles, Jean-Baptiste Robin was given an enviable and distinguished place in a long line of royal organists (Couperin, Marchand, and Daquin) as “court musician.” Robin’s playing mirrors and matches the opulence and grandeur of that world-renowned building. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished French organists, master teachers, and composers of his generation (with over 150 new works to his credit), Mr. Robin also serves as Professor of Organ at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Regional in Versailles.

St. John’s stunning organ was built by Richard Howell and Company and dedicated in late 2011. The mechanical action organ has three manuals and 32 stops.

The concert is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated and an offering will be collected. For more information, please visit stjohnslynchburg.org or jbrobin.com
