Juneteenth Themed Day

Join the Frontier Culture Museum to learn about Juneteenth and the history of African Americans in the United States. Learn how traditional West African recipes evolved in America. And listen to the fascinating story of Mt. Tabor Church, one of the first independent African American Churches in Augusta County.
Dive into Staunton history with the story of the Queen Miller Home. Moonyene Jackson-Amis is presenting the story of her mother’s adopted parents, Queen Elizabeth Miller, and William Ashby Miller, who opened their home to over 300 children in the first part of the twentieth century. This lecture will take place at 2:30 PM in the Dairy Barn Lecture Hall at the Frontier Culture Museum.
