If you haven't already noticed, the summer has been a bit quiet here at Second Stage. You might have been asking why, and for good reason. We are raising and saving funds. Summer concerts have been put on hold this year because we are building a second stage for Second Stage! An OUTDOOR stage for future events and all community members to enjoy.

This outdoor stage is being built in memory of Dr. Dudley A. Raine Jr. To celebrate the occasion, we are bringing in none other than the talents of both Mr. Raine's grandsons, performing violist from NYC, Dudley A. Raine IV and guitarist, Paul Gunter. We are so excited to have these two incredibly talented musicians play in our venue! We are equally excited to begin this project and to invite you to the Dudley Raine Stage Benefit Concert taking place Monday, August 18th, beginning at 7pm. With your generous donations, we will build this stage together!

Dudley A. Raine IV is a classically trained, freelance violist, currently residing in New York City. He is the founder and Artistic Director of the Seven Hills Chamber Music Festival located in his hometown of Lynchburg, VA. He is the former Stage Manager of the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied viola, earning both his Bachelors and Masters in Viola Performance. Dudley regularly performs around the country in orchestral, chamber, and contemporary music settings. He has worked for both the Concert Artists Guild (CAG) and currently works with the Opus 118 program in New York City public elementary schools, teaching viola and violin.
