Trades Day

Trades Day

Have you ever spent an entire afternoon with our blacksmith or tinsmith as they make objects for use on our historic sites? Have you ever wondered how buckets and barrels are made? Come visit our first Trades Day! With many historic tradesmen and craftsmen demonstrating a range of trades carefully preserved and passed on, you’re sure to find something interesting. You might even find something to take home!

Want to get ready for the fair circuit? Come demonstrate at our first annual Trades Day on August 23rd! We’re looking for 18th and 19th century trades and craftspeople to demonstrate or sell (or both!) their craft. Period dress is encouraged but not required. Please reach out to events@fcmv.virginia.gov with your type of demonstration, time period, and if you plan to sell items.
