UVA Baroque Orchestra
UVA Baroque Orchestra
The University of Virginia Department of Music is proud to present the Baroque Orchestra on Sunday, April 16 at 8pm in Old Cabell Hall.
The UVA Baroque Orchestra, led by faculty violinist David Sariti, presents a varied program of music from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, using period instruments and performance practices. Students learn the musicianship and instrumental techniques of the period, and follow historic precedent by performing without a conductor. The ensemble's educational mission extends to the audience, who is invited to come and discover these wonderful and often unfamiliar works.
Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA’s historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda. (map) Parking is available in the central grounds parking garage on Emmet Street, in the C1 parking lot off McCormick Rd, and in the parking lots at the UVA Corner. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall.
