Chief Engineer

Design, construct, maintain, monitor and repair the technical facilities of multi-station public radio system serving most of Western & Central Virginia with twenty five electronic sites. Supervise the station's technical and logging operations. Consult with, and provide training to station personnel about the station's technical operation. Monitor daily operations to insure legal compliance with technical rules and regulations of Federal Communications Commission. Maintains studio and transmitter physical plants.

Serves as reporter/bureau chief providing news/information content for various programs/sources from the New River Valley. The successful candidate will be based in Blacksburg as the lead news producer and reporter for this key listening location in our network of stations in Virginia. This position requires significant experience in public radio reporting, editing, and story telling with emphasis on creating NPR-style pieces that reflect WVTF/RADIO IQ's high standards of journalism and production values as well as Public Radio's Core Values for News Programming.

The successful candidate will be a part of and reside in the New River Valley community with the ability to respond to local news assignments and events in a timely fashion.
