Visit the vault!
Join staff on a short tour of the VMHC's rare book and manuscript vault to see some of the collection's most unique books, documents, and artifacts from across five centuries of Virginia history. In addition to viewing these treasures, guests will learn about the VMHC's library collection and the library's role in facilitating pioneering research into Virginia history.
This tour gives special access to an area of the museum off limits to daily admission and library visitors.

This December, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown explodes onto the Live Arts stage with a Technicolor tangle of love and self-discovery. Pepa’s world tilts when her lover vanishes, and her search for her beloved spirals into ex-wives, taxi drivers, best friends, and one unforgettable batch of gazpacho. From composer-lyricist David Yazbek and book writer Jeffrey Lane, this rollicking musical is adapted from Pedro Almodóvar’s cult classic and brought to life by your talented community!Director Xavier Taylor (of Kinky Boots) calls it witty, hopeful, and charming, a story of independence and resilience with a vibrant Latin-infused score.
