Fans of the Virginia Cavaliers will welcome the team home Tuesday afternoon. And the university will celebrate the team and its first-ever national championship Saturday with an event at Scott Stadium.
The team, which won the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Monday night, is expected to return to John Paul Jones Arena Tuesday afternoon. The University says the team is expected to arrive between 4:45 and 5:00 p.m. Parking in the area will be limited and fans are encouraged to use the Emmet/Ivy Garage.
On Saturday, UVA will celebrate the win with an event at Scott Stadium. Gates will open at 12:30 and the program starts at 2:00. The west and southwest gates will be open. Parking and admission are free.
