Sunday’s update on the VDH website showed 18,671 positive cases of the virus in the Commonwealth.
The total came to just under 17,000 in Friday’s update.
660 Virginians have now died due to complications from the virus. 338 of those deaths have been among people 80 and older.

Fairfax County remains the hardest hit locality in the state – with more than 4,300 cases. The Richmond area is closing in on 2,000 cases.
More than 119,000 Virginians have been tested for the virus.
As the state continues efforts to ramp up testing, Governor Ralph Northam is expected to release details on the first step of his reopening plan Monday. RADIO IQ will broadcast Northam’s press conference at 2pm on Monday.
