Tony Elliott is UVA’s next top guy.
He’s spent a little more than a decade at Clemson University – running the Tiger’s offense. In that time, he helped lead Clemson to six Atlantic Coast Conference championships and two national titles.
In a statement, UVA athletic director Carla Williams called Elliott a winner and someone who understands there’s a great opportunity to do something special at UVA.
Elliott will be introduced at a news conference next week. The 42-year-old Elliott was the recipient of the prestigious Frank Broyles Award as the top college football assistant coach in 2017.
Earlier this month, former head coach Bronco Mendenhall unexpectedly announced plans to leave the program after six seasons in Charlottesville. He will coach the team in its upcoming bowl game.
