Virginia winemakers are under a new threat. An insect called spotted lanternfly is spreading throughout Virginia. In July, the state department of agriculture issued a quarantine for 12 counties and 10 cities. The insect originated from China, and has wrecked havoc for some vineyards in Pennsylvania. There is a silver lining, however: People can prevent the spread of the insect.
