Virginia Tracing Contacts for 5 Cases of Coronavirus

Virginia Department of Health

Virginia Public Health officials say five people have tested positive for the new coronavirus in the state.

The latest cases include the wife of a Fairfax man in his 80's who tested positive after returning from a cruise on the Nile River. Now she's been hospitalized, but the department says the risk to the community remains low because she complied with requests to self-quarantine.

Another is a Spotsylvania County resident hospitalized in stable condition. Investigators are tracing this person's contacts.

Most people don't suffer much from COVID-19, but it can cause severe illness in the elderly and people with existing health problems.
