About the Artist:
Comedian, Actor, Producer Tony Rock is the hardest working man in show business. Born in the same Brooklyn Hospital where most of his eight brothers and sisters arrived into the world, Tony was born laughing and it was quickly apparent that his big brother wasn’t going to be the only famous comedian in the family. Tony has proven to be one of television’s best hosts having played the role of ringleader on HBO’s weekly stand-up comedy series All Def Comedy, NBA TV’s The Warm Up, along with BET’s Black Card Revoked and Apollo Live, all while co-starring in his first primetime network series – CBS’ Living Biblically.
Performing stand-up comedy continues to be Tony’s first love and this year has proven no different. You can see him on tour in 2018 as one of the featured acts on the Platinum Comedy Tour with Mike Epps, The Festival Of Laughs with Comedienne Sommore, and his own Tony Rock Live club tour!
Outside of the lights-camera-action, Tony works tirelessly as the founder of the MyROCK Diabetes Foundation, a charity organization established in honor of his late father.

ABOUT ARTIST

Wayne Henderson was born in Grayson County, Virginia, where he lives today. He is a full-time instrument builder and musician, specializing in building guitars, and playing in a unique finger-picking style. Though he has lived in Virginia all of his life, Henderson has played countless performances in Western North Carolina, been a member of Western North Carolina bands, and influenced many regional musicians, through both his music and craft. He developed a unique style of using a thumbpick and fingerpicks, making his playing sound like flatpicking, with fast, accurate, and clean notes.

Henderson’s father and uncle were musicians who played with Estil Ball, an admired finger-style guitar player from the area who influenced Wayne’s playing. Inspired by Ball, Wayne ordered a cheap guitar from the Sears catalogue. Disappointed with that instrument, he decided to build his own guitar, out of a used dresser drawer bottom. When he struggled to find the proper glue for his newly crafted instrument, he sought out the advice of a neighbor, Albert Hash, who built fiddles and other instruments. With Hash’s encouragement, Wayne continued working on his instrument building.

From residencies in Puerto Vallarta to weekly shows in NYC, this “BEST OF” cabaret show will showcase Delighted’s award-winning live vocals, side-splitting humor, thrilling audience interaction, and all the BDE you can handle! Fun fact: We’ll be celebrating her 25th drag anniversary during the show! And she’s only 30!

Now showing six new exhibits. The featured artists are Heidi Peelen, Geneva Dinh, Anna Demovidova, RVA Clay Founding Members, and Meagan Samuel, along with the May All Media Show, a juried exhibition showcasing exceptional work by regional artists, and a collaborative Bridge Project exhibit with Richmond Public Schools, the Children’s Museum of Richmond and Richard Harding. Also see 80+ working artist studios.

Visit us Tuesdays through Sundays 11am- 5pm. Admission is free and open to the public. Convenient and free parking is available. Exhibits will remain on view through June 20, 2026 (unless otherwise noted). The May All-Media Show will continue through June 18th. The Bridge Project Exhibit will continue through May 30th. Heidi Peelen’s exhibit will continue through July 18th.

At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 7, the Piedmont Master Gardeners will present “Turn Your Garbage to Gold,” a free outdoor workshop on composting. It will be held at the compost demonstration site in the Bread & Roses Gardens at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1118 Preston Ave., Charlottesville. The workshop will highlight a range of techniques for turning food scraps, yard trimmings and other compostables into the ideal soil amendment. It will also show how all households, large and small, can keep compostable waste out of landfills. Space is limited. Coolwell is an historically significant Black neighborhood in Amherst County, VA. Crystal Rosson, local community historian and genealogist, will present Coolwell historic photos, audio reminiscences and video interviews of longtime Coolwell neighbors, friends and family. Lynn Rainville, public historian, will share information about Coolwell residents who helped to build and run the Sweetbrier Plantation and Sweet Briar College.

Dr. Lynn Rainville is an author, speaker and public historian who studies ordinary Virginians doing extraordinary things in the past. Crystal Rosson is a local community historian and genealogist.

AGAR will present stories on video from students who attended Mount Airy Elementary School in the ​1950s and 1960s. ​
